welcome to the EMU cosmology, send an EMAIL to jump on the wave, enjoy !

The EMU is a gnarly bird that is for sure !

Australian, related to Ostrich can travel great distances, and when necessary can sprint at 50 km/h (31 mph). Other notable flightless bipeds downunder are the NZ Aotearoa natives MOA – a 10 foot high 'chicken' eaten to extinction by Maori only 200 years ago – and of course the diminuitive nocturnal KIWI which is how the humans there are named by some. Across the ditch in Australia, Oz or 'Straya! ,, they have a vicious turkey-sized human-killing called Cassowary.

Yes, Australia is a wild place, the EMU is notable on a few counts : in 1930 post first world war, the colonial army had surplus ammunition and the 'farmers' hated the Emu who would run rampant. Solution – gun em down, wage war on the Emu ! " Major Meredith commented on the striking manoeuvrability of the emus, even while badly wounded.

"If we had a military division with the bullet-carrying capacity of these birds it would face any army in the world ... They can face machine guns with the invulnerability of tanks. They are like Zulus whom even dum-dum bullets could not stop"

Australia is full of wild creatures, spiritual epicness, and Dum Dums !

The Aboriginal people have the 'Dreamtime' – English term to represent Aboriginal concepts of Everywhen during which the land was inhabited by ancestral figures, often of heroic proportions or with supernatural abilities – best understood by non-Aboriginal people as "a complex of meanings".  In the Upper Arrernte language, the proper verb for 'to dream' was altjirerama, literally 'to see God'.

In the night sky, an Emu can be seen in the glittering sprawl of the Milky Way. Named 'Dhinawan', very clever, industrious isn’t made of stars; she’s subtle and elusive. Dhinawan is found in the dark space between the lights. Dhinawan embodies the quiet ingenuity of Indigenous knowledge systems: there, right before your eyes, yet requiring a different way of seeing.

You can read all about it in this fantastic book DARK EMU

EMU the flightless wonder from downunder needs to fly !
